Pete Doherty at Reading

This evening I photographed everyone's second favourite media-friendly druggie after Amy Winehouse... Pete Doherty of Babyshambles.

Playing on the Radio 1 Stage on the opening day of the Reading Festival 2008, he very courteously decided to soak the photographers with beer as he came onto the stage, then broke the smoking ban.

Reading Festival Aerials

I went up in the air this morning, taking a helicopter trip over Berkshire in order to photograph the Reading Festival from above, on the opening morning. Aerial jobs are always good fun, but slightly disconcerting when the door is taken off for ease of photography- it certainly creates a massive noise and a ferocious wind inside the cab.

Charity Shield at Wembley

I had the opportunity to photograph the Charity Shield at Wembley today- the inaugural curtain raiser to the football season which this year featured Manchester United and Portsmouth. The match ended 0-0 and United won on penalties.

I'd never been to the new Wembley before today, and was a humbling experience- an incredible stadium that looks enormous from pitch level. The photographer's entrance alone is bigger than most family homes.
